Question

What is the agreed behavior for auto-pasting transcription into any focused field (terminal, browser, editor) on Linux, using the existing text injector — and what (if anything) must change in the injector to make it seamless?

Context

  • Existing text_injector.py handles X11/Wayland text injection.
  • Target is any focused field — NOT terminal-specific handling.
  • Build on the existing injector (decided); the question is how release-of-hold-to-talk triggers the paste and whether the injector needs improvement (focus handling, timing, Wayland).

Resolution target

A decision on the paste flow: when to inject, how to handle focus/timing, and any injector improvements needed — ready for a builder. Grilling ticket — resolved via /grilling with the human.
