xavierk 2a76793109 fix(app): detect CUDA outside PATH, warn on IBus pin on niri, query Gitea for updates, repoint migrated dictionary (#36)
CI / security (push) Successful in 1m13s
CI / lint (push) Successful in 24s
CI / ai-review (push) Skipped
CUDA toolkit detection also checks CUDA_HOME, CUDA_PATH and /usr/local/cuda*, and the backend order names only backends the installed build compiled in. An explicit IBus pin on niri is honoured with one warning. The update checker queries this fork's Gitea releases and packaged installs make no network request. The one-time legacy import repoints a migrated dictionary path at the copied file.

soubarnak ea7be5f111 feat(identity): rename user-visible identity to voculinux with one-time legacy import
The fork takes its own name everywhere a user can see it: binaries
(voculinux, voculinux-gui), desktop entry, autostart, tray, D-Bus
namespace (com.voculinux.Voculinux, no alias for the old name),
config/data/cache dirs, single-instance lock, IBus engine identity,
tray icons, resource prefixes, VOCULINUX_* environment names, and the
update-checker user agent. The internal Python module stays vocalinux
and the distribution metadata keeps the upstream URLs as provenance.

On first run a previous Vocalinux install's config.json, custom
dictionary, and portal restore token are copied once into the new
locations (new config always wins, no merge, no write-back); models
re-resolve through the pinned-checksum download path. An offline
naming-sweep test proves no old-name strings remain on user-visible
surfaces outside the allowlist.

Jatin K MalikandGitHub e53fc2ceb0 fix(updates): follow the build channel and allow turning update checks off (#999)

Jatin K MalikandGitHub 74d6f505d4 fix(update): fall back when GitHub API rate-limits (#846)
Shared NAT hits the unauthenticated api.github.com quota and the
update check logged a WARNING that looked like a failure. On 403
or 429, look up the latest stable tag from the releases page
JSON, and stay quiet if that also fails. Nightly still refuses
to treat the stable latest tag as a nightly.

Jatin K MalikandGitHub 32a17a9659 chore: point GitHub URLs at VocaHQ (#696)
Repo links, install one-liners, and release checks now use
github.com/VocaHQ/vocalinux. The site mentions VocaHQ without a redesign.

The Codeberg mirror, personal email, and X handle are unchanged.

Jatin K MalikandGitHub 27eb1d3807 feat(settings): in-app update checker with stable/nightly channels (#631)
* feat(settings): add in-app update checker with stable/nightly channels

Move About into the Settings sidebar and check GitHub Releases for updates.
Stable uses /releases/latest; Nightly follows nightly-YYYY-MM-DD tags.
Remove the standalone About dialog and wire tray About to Settings.

Fixes #183

* docs(readme): update About screenshot caption for Settings page

* fix(settings): address update-checker review and About polish

Discard stale in-flight results when the update channel changes, page
through GitHub releases for nightly tags, restore the About logo next
to the title, and replace the em dash in the app description.

* docs(screenshots): add About update-checker state captures

Host PR review screenshots on the branch so GitHub can render them
from raw.githubusercontent.com (Cursor artifact URLs 403 in PR bodies).

* fix(updates): recognize .devYYYYMMDD nightlies and clear Open style

Parse CI nightly versions like 0.14.2.dev20260802+sha when checking for
updates, and drop the suggested-action style from Open after a failed
GitHub lookup.
