soubarnak ea7be5f111 feat(identity): rename user-visible identity to voculinux with one-time legacy import
The fork takes its own name everywhere a user can see it: binaries
(voculinux, voculinux-gui), desktop entry, autostart, tray, D-Bus
namespace (com.voculinux.Voculinux, no alias for the old name),
config/data/cache dirs, single-instance lock, IBus engine identity,
tray icons, resource prefixes, VOCULINUX_* environment names, and the
update-checker user agent. The internal Python module stays vocalinux
and the distribution metadata keeps the upstream URLs as provenance.

On first run a previous Vocalinux install's config.json, custom
dictionary, and portal restore token are copied once into the new
locations (new config always wins, no merge, no write-back); models
re-resolve through the pinned-checksum download path. An offline
naming-sweep test proves no old-name strings remain on user-visible
surfaces outside the allowlist.

Voculinux is a privacy-first, fully offline voice dictation system for Linux.
Speak naturally and your words appear in any application — on X11 or Wayland —
using local speech recognition. No cloud, no data leaves your machine.
Speech recognition models are downloaded on first run.

Features:

Toggle or push-to-talk activation modes

Real-time transcription with minimal latency

Universal compatibility across all Linux applications

100% offline operation for privacy and reliability

whisper.cpp by default — high-performance C++ speech recognition

Universal GPU support via Vulkan (AMD, Intel, NVIDIA)

System tray integration with visual status indicators

Start on login support via XDG autostart

Pleasant audio feedback with smooth gliding tones

Graphical settings dialog for easy configuration

This Flatpak ships the whisper.cpp engine. On a Wayland session, text is
injected through XWayland.

Patch: a stop that races a recording start can no longer leave the microphone recording forever, capture reads happen outside the buffer lock so a stalled microphone can no longer hang Stop, keyboards stay alive through suspend and the GNOME lock screen, Dictation Pad and Settings no longer bind to other windows on Wayland, Ctrl+mouse-wheel zoom works again, the installer gains an upgrade mode that keeps your existing configuration, and paste-injection copies are marked sensitive for clipboard history on wl-clipboard 2.2+. This Flatpak still ships whisper.cpp only.

Patch: long push-to-talk dictations are transcribed in segments instead of being cut off, model downloads only start after you confirm them and Cancel cancels the whole change, Test Dictation keeps its own result while the Dictation Pad is open, the GPU picker follows ggml's device list and CPU runs use most of your cores, the recording hotkey can cancel a transcription in progress, this Flatpak bundles onnxruntime for Silero VAD and uses the X11 hotkey listener on X11 sessions, RemoteDesktop portal requests no longer collide on GNOME, update checks can be turned off, and Slovenian is supported. This Flatpak still ships whisper.cpp only.

Patch: "new line" and "new paragraph" voice commands insert real line breaks standalone and mid-utterance, hotkeys work again on GNOME Shell X11 and quitting no longer collapses multi-layout keyboard maps, the bundled pywhispercpp builds at the portable x86-64 baseline so older CPUs stop crashing, and the Snap recipe drops the `uinput` plug the Store denied so revisions publish again. This Flatpak still ships whisper.cpp only.

Patch: the dictation overlay orb pulses and ripples with live microphone level, Nix gets a flake package with NixOS and Home Manager modules plus Vulkan GPU inference, keyboards with a held key or queued key events are left ungrabbed at startup so typing during launch cannot strand a key, bundled pywhispercpp drops -march=native so AppImage and Flatpak stop crashing on older CPUs, and the piped installer prompts via /dev/tty. This Flatpak still ships whisper.cpp only.

Dictation pad windows no longer ghost away under Wayland compositors, keyboard discovery stops grabbing mice, touchpads, and power buttons, KDE Plasma 6 Wayland letter case is fixed, and the Speech Model picker stages changes until Download is confirmed instead of starting a fetch per click. This Flatpak still ships whisper.cpp only.
