Deepen observation-history publication, local-day evidence, and activity selection.

What to build

Keep historical activity selection stable while browsing local-day evidence. Date, selected hour/point and read/write measurement survive background refresh; unavailable history is explained instead of silently selecting another day. Keyboard, mouse, tabs and date entry share the same activity selection rules, without widget-level state reconstruction.

Acceptance criteria

  • Previous/next, direct date entry and today/live work from ordinary launch and at 80×24 or below; invalid date entry is visible, cancellation preserves prior selection and modal keystrokes do not trigger graph actions.
  • Refresh retains the requested historical date, hour identity and measurement; an unavailable date remains identified with a visible explanation instead of silently jumping to a different day.
  • Repeated local clock labels are distinguished by actual time/evidence identity; historical timezone labels and shared/incomplete evidence remain clear in daily/hourly views.
  • Keyboard and clickable equivalents follow identical navigation transitions; constrained textual fallback preserves selected date, known read/write amounts and evidence state.
  • Headless Textual tests assert visible selections and readouts across the normal read path, replacing redundant private-index assertions while preserving plot, help, motion/theme and unrelated control behavior.

Implemented and pushed to main in c4524cf and d045e88. Historical date/hour selection, unavailable summaries, timezone/DST identity, and incomplete-hour readouts now persist with headless coverage. The full suite reported 886 passed, 1 skipped, and 21 packaging-test failures involving zstd/Podman and package removal or migration checks; all non-packaging tests passed.
